Iran too strong for RP

The Iranian national squad fended off a late rally by the Philippine team, 88-78. While Powerade Team Pilipinas, led by Willie Miller and James Yap, shot the lights out from beyond the arc for the second consecutive game, the Iranians were just too big and too strong to be taken over.

Nikkah Bahrami led Iran with 25 markers, while Hamed Ehadadi, a 7-foot-2 behemoth formerly of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, contributed 21. Philippines play Kuwait tomorrow at 9am to book a seat at the quarterfinal leg of the FIBA-Asia Tournament.
